TERMS OF USE OF THE IT INFRASTRUCTURE
By using the UNIL’s computer infrastructure, the user declares their acceptance of the aforementioned terms of use. Users who are unable to comply with these terms should not continue to use the infrastructure.
The UNIL reserves the right to modify, supplement, or delete any or all of the aforementioned terms of use at any time without notice.
Users who continue to use the infrastructure after modifications have been published are deemed to have accepted them.
GENERAL PRINCIPLES
When using the UNIL’s computer infrastructure, each user agrees to:
- Comply with applicable legislation, including copyright and intellectual property laws (licenses, etc.)
- Comply with the UNIL’s internal regulations, particularly Directive 6.1 on the use of computer infrastructure (in French), Directive 6.6 on computer equipment (in French), and the Information Security Policy (PSSI) (in French)
- Not to access data, accounts, or resources without authorization
- Not to use the infrastructure for commercial purposes unrelated to the UNIL
- Participate in securing the UNIL’s information system by reporting any problems they become aware of to the Centre informatique (Ci)
PRIVATE USE
Private use by employees that is unrelated to their primary activity within the UNIL is tolerated if its impact is minimal, does not harm the image of the UNIL, complies with the law, and does not interfere with the employee’s obligations to the UNIL.
SECURITY
The security of the UNIL’s information system begins with the user. Although technical flaws may enable illegal intrusion in the UNIL network, phishing, malicious email, or social engineering directly targeting the user are the most common attacks.
Therefore, users must:
- Strictly adhere to the security directives of the Ci
- Secure their password and not disclose it to another person
- Secure their data to prevent its dissemination, particularly in the event of theft
PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
When using the information system, various personal data elements may be collected by the UNIL. This information is collected in accordance with applicable legislation and the UNIL’s privacy policy, which is available on its website.
ABUSE AND SANCTIONS
Any serious violation of the terms of use of the computer infrastructure by a user may lead to the deletion or restriction of granted access and may be reported to the competent authorities for possible disciplinary, criminal, or administrative sanctions.
